the point of my work this year is to show the extent of cover up with make up and why society sets a high level of beauty to people and give the message that that's how you should look.
Cindy Sherman explores this idea with the following pictures because she makes herself look plastic and unreal. my first photos are of mannequins, i tried to focus on the lips and materialistic items on her. the lace is to show shes tied back, like a magazine and advertisement ties you into and tricks you into thinking makeup and being size 4 is beautiful. tying you into society's idea of beauty. i used my scarf on the mannequin to show it as something that's being sold and the women (mannequin) is not seen as someone beautiful and a person. its all about whats getting advertised and attracting people to the product with a dolled up girl.
